@@hoobiehoobie6846 I went through a few interviews and podcast chats with JL yesterday learning bits and pieces about him even after so many years its a trip to listen to him; for a scene like hardcore treading the line the Kurt Cobain line of who shows up at shows isn't always up to the artist; In Seattle and LA punk and hardcore and mix different crowds are full of different people using the linear notes of incesticide to try and deter a type of demographic is wishful thinking or more realistically nonsense i appreciate dude but that statement probably never made a difference; Pennywise is a band fairly misunderstood Fletcher is such a strong presence i could imagine him in pits stomping dudes left and right Jim is a guy who seems quietly to more of a hippie than a PR enjoying beatnik authors Henry Theroux and Christoper McCandless type of Anti Society Anti Conformist 60s Philosophical Society cats that's a rather different position than what PW crowds and shows brought to the table ; LA is a place to stay Vigilante dude quit after Self Titled due to violence the crowds and shows talking about trying to get married instead of showing up work bloodied and bruised he's more timid and humble than flat bill hats probably give him for;,i feel similarly going to the rockabilly show in LA or the disco bash and dancing versus Punk Shows and getting beat up by thugs or stabbed he's right LA is that way; In Seattle at PW and BR both pits people kicking the shit out of each other; With respect to his lyrics consider him a Folk hero or a Bob Dylan type traveling free off the grid 50s beatnik guy that type of reflection by him explains so much to me years later his lyrics are so thoughtful it can be an extreme he has the extremes of writing about dark shit but the self empowerment and staying strong in everyday life it makes sense to consider him a Folk writer//
